September 12: Gabby Schoolcraft
Triangle Shirtwaist Coat Factory: This is important because it was a big factory fire. In this factory a bunch of women worked in it. The owners of the factory would lock the doors to make sure no employees got in, or got out. One day a fire on the 8th floor (due to what they think friction of threads rubbing together on the ceiling) broke out. Since the doors were locked the women could not escape. They started going down the fire escape but that broke after constant weight and usage. Women had to start jumping out windows. The firemen tried their best to save and catch everyone they could but overall it was unsuccessful. The owners of the factory got no jail time and hundreds of workers died.
